In Middle School, from Grades 6 to 8, the curriculum deepens in both intellectual rigor and emotional depth. Adolescents are met with respect and challenge, guided to think critically and express themselves authentically. From hands-on science and global history to woodworking and yoga, students explore the world through diverse modalities. Sharing circles, presentations, and real-world field trips help them refine their voice and expand their vision.
Our curriculum covers core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Hindi, and Telugu, taught through an innovative block system known as Main Lessons. Each Main Lesson spans three weeks, with 1.5-hour daily sessions focused on a single subject. Teachers guide students through a hands-on, immersive learning experience, and at the end of the block, students present their learnings to parents in an online interactive session—a practice that reinforces understanding and communication skills.
Unlike conventional methods, learning at Abhaya School is textbook-free, making education experiential, hands-on, and minds-on. Assessments are thoughtfully integrated to encourage understanding rather than rote memorization.
Middle school students attend school on two Saturdays (1st and 3rd) each month, allowing for a balanced schedule. Learning extends beyond the classroom with subject-specific field trips and an annual age-appropriate, subject-related educational journey, enriching their understanding through real-world exposure.
