Abhaya - The Waldorf School

The Waldorf Curriculum is a process of learning that places the growing child in the centre. Woven around insights given by Rudolf Steiner, the curriculum nurtures the natural developmental stages of the child.

Abhaya, as the name suggests is about many of us who are free from fear. Fear about an increasingly questionable education system, fear about the choices we make in the interest of our Children. It is for all among us who understand that excellence has more to do with self-motivation than killer instinct; intelligence has more to do with the harmonious working of the hands, heart and head than learning by rote.

Abhaya means “fearlessness”—a fitting name for a school that dares to question, to care, and to create outside the bounds of convention. In a time when the soul of education often risks being lost, Abhaya School offers a shining alternative: a space where children are seen, heard, and inspired to grow into free-thinking, compassionate individuals.

Our Mission

To create a learning environment that fosters a liberal and multi-disciplinary approach to Waldorf Education in Lower / Middle School and in Upper School this is integrated with the CBSE curriculum.

The campus features two well-planned academic blocks, each equipped with thoughtfully designed learning spaces. Dedicated main lesson rooms provide an immersive learning experience, while specialized laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics encourage hands-on exploration. A vast library housing over 10,000 books nurtures a culture of reading and research.

For the all-round development of students, Abhaya School boasts expansive sports facilities, including dedicated grounds for cricket, football, volleyball, and throwball, along with a basketball court, indoor sports arenas, and sandpits. A specially designed kindergarten area provides a warm and stimulating environment for early learners.

Art Room

Creativity thrives in dedicated art and craft rooms, a woodwork shed, and a clay modeling area, where students engage in hands-on artistic pursuits. The campus also features a traditional oven for baking pizzas and other delights, adding a unique experiential element to learning.

Committed to sustainability, Abhaya School operates its own kitchen, powered by solar energy and biomass composting. The school also provides guest accommodations with kitchen facilities, ensuring a welcoming space for visiting educators and guests.
